Andrea Kavanagh is a Visual Artist living and working in her studio beside the Dublin mountains. She graduated at NCAD in Visual Arts Practice 2019. The creating of unique contemporary ceramic sculpture reflects her interest in the delicacy and transience of the natural world. She is interested in finding new ways of seeing porcelain clay. For some of her larger sculptures she uses machine cut and polished acrylic discs and fishing line to assemble smaller organic like pieces together creating new hanging sculptural forms.

Andrea has exhibited in many group exhibitions in Dublin and around the country including Sculpture in Context 2019-21, Ceramics Ireland Selected Group exhibitions 2019-22. including their Triennial exhibition “LandMarks” Farmleigh Gallery Dublin 2020. Andrea is an active member of ArtnetDLR Artists Collective and she has been selected for group exhibitions 2020-22 with most notably “Metamorphosis” 2022.

Andrea has won The ESB Moran Award for Outstanding Sculpture at The 192nd RHA Annual exhibition for her work “Inner Sphere”. She has also been shortlisted for The RCSI Irish Times Art Award. The Exhibition opens 23rd May running until 24th July. https://rhagallery.ie/192nd-rha-annual-exhibition/
